1st May 2015, HH&M admits three new partners


The Firm of Hamilton Harrison & Mathews is pleased to announce that effective 1st May 2015 we have admitted three new partners to the partnership. This brings the total number of partners at Hamilton Harrison & Mathews to 14.

The new partners are:-

1. Andrew Oduor- Commercial Department (Tax), Nairobi
2. Deborah Bubi- Mwangi- Partner, Mombasa
3. Sammy Ndolo- Commercial Department, Nairobi

The admissions demonstrate the firm’s commitment to investing in our people and servicing the needs of our clients. The new partners will diversify our expertise in the tax advisory, dispute resolution and corporate/commercial practice areas. We are confident that the new partners will boost the firm’s ambition to be the leading full service law firm in the region.

Andrew Oduor

Andrew Oduor, Partner- Commercial Department (Tax), Nairobi office
Andrew is a tax specialist and has vast experience in taxation issues from his previous employment at Deloitte and Touche (“Deloitte”), PricewaterhouseCoopers (“PwC”) and Oraro & Company Advocates. He also acted as a stand in tax manager atTelkom Kenya (Orange) on secondment from PwC while Telkom was in the process of recruiting a tax manager. In addition to providing his tax advisory and litigation services, he is also regularly consulted for his expert opinion on salient tax issues by the mainstream media in relation to the tax regime in Kenya. He is an international tax and transaction advisory expert, and his clients have included numerous local companies as well as multinationals.
Andrew will be heading our specialised Tax Department which will provide customised tax advice to our clients.

Deborah Bubi- Mwangi- Partner, Mombasa office
Deborah Bubi- Mwangi has a wide range of experience in civil litigation and arbitration and heads the firm’s branch in Mombasa. Deborah has represented both local and international clients in various courts and statutory tribunals. She has handled disputes relating to: employment law, banking and finance, judicial review, constitutional law, debt recovery, intellectual property rights, information and technology, telecommunications, defamation, property, carriage by air, insurance, tax law, landlord and tenant among others.
Deborah also specialises in advising on and reviewing commercial contracts of a wide range and in drafting and
reviewing employment contracts, human resource manuals, collective bargaining agreements and generally advising on employment matters.

Sammy Ndolo, Partner- Commercial Department, Nairobi office
Sammy joined the firm in 2010 and has been an associate with the firm for 5 years. Since joining the firm he has been actively involved in complex and high value transaction and advisory work. Sammy has advised on a wide range of corporate and commercial transactions. He has particular experience in public and private M&A, private equity transactions and equity financings as well as infrastructure, energy and natural resources matters. He also advises on equity and debt capital markets transactions. Sammy recently completed a secondment at Allen & Overy and Shell respectively, both in London.
